EXIF Data Viewer: View Photo Metadata & GPS Online

Use the EXIF data viewer to inspect camera, lens, exposure, capture date and GPS metadata locally. No photo upload or sign-in needed; JSON export is free.

Updated
EXIF is metadata stored inside a photo file. Import a photo to read the fields it contains. The EXIF data viewer works locally, without uploading photos or guessing missing settings.

When should you view EXIF data?

  • Learn photography: compare aperture, shutter speed and ISO with the image to understand different camera settings.
  • Organize photos: inspect capture dates, cameras and lenses to decide which JPEG details need correcting.
  • Check before sharing: look for GPS, author and copyright fields, then decide what to keep, edit or remove.

How to view photo metadata

  1. Import photos and select a file in the library.
  2. Read key settings in Overview, then search readable fields in All metadata.
  3. Export metadata as JSON for free, or use the editor or remover to change the photo metadata.

Why is EXIF data missing?

Screenshots, converted images and photos processed by social platforms may lack original EXIF. Reading also depends on format, browser and file contents. Missing GPS fields do not rule out other location clues.
